Nightmare for Najib & Rosmah: What goes around comes around INCLUDING C4

YES! As the window to the 13th General Election shuts on April 28, 2013, we will surely be seeing more and more public revelations on scandals linked to Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders, especially to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Umno.

That’s because the ruling BN is now actually Umno, all other coalition parties are just irrelevant and are there to just make up the numbers for multi-racial multi-religious Malaysia.

The logic and reality is simple to Malaysians – Umno falls, BN falls, thus the public’s rallying cry for ABU (Asalkan Bukan Umno or Anthing But Umno).

What goes around comes around including C4

In the run-up to the next national polls, Malaysia’s dignity and credibility will surely be blown to bits and pieces by scandals, perhaps with greater effect than the exclusive military C4 explosives that were used on Mongolian interpreter Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Shooting her at point blank on the head was not enough. They had to use C4 to blow up her body – apparently to destroy whatever damning DNA in her body. She was reportedly pregnant but, the BIG question is, with whose flesh and blood?

Seat-warmer for Mukhriz

I have already blogged who are the real players in Umno who wants Najib out at all costs.

They are the evil and racist former premier of 22 years, Mahathir Mohamad, and his most trusted lieutenant Daim Zainuddin who was appointed Finance Minister twice under the former’s regime.

Of course Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin is linked to Mahathir and Daim.

However, Mahathir’s real agenda is to see his son, Mukhriz (now Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister) comfortably positioned to become prime minister in the 14th General Election. Muhyiddin is used by Mahathir as a stop-gap prime minister or one-term PM, if he gets to serve a full term.

Between Najib and Mahathir-Daim, who do you think Muhyiddin will choose to be aligned to?

Two very clear and valid reasons why Muhyiddin chooses Mahathir-Daim: Muhyiddin gets to sit in the prime minister’s chair when Najib is toppled; and with the tainted and scandal-tainted Najib, the days are numbered for Najib, what with Mahathir-Daim’s seemingly bottomless financial war chest.

Deepak and Musa: An Umno inside job?

A good many Umno members believe Najib Tun Razak had something to do with Altantuya's murder although they don't believe he had given the order.

The whispers by the anti-Najib faction along the corridors of the recent Umno general assembly were all centred on Rosmah Mansor (Najib Tun Razak’s wife) and Muhyiddin Yassin (Deputy Prime Minister).

Whispers also revolved around the fact that Najib hides behind the office of the prime minster, using his powers not to answer the many allegations thrown at him.

The corridors were abuzz with talk about Rosmah’s insatiable hunger to grab business opportunities, wealth and anything that would enrich her.

The name of a certain prominent Malaysian Indian businessman (not Deepak Jaikishan) kept coming up over and over again, a new television company to rival Astro was mentioned and so many other matters. All roads, however, led back to the house of Najib.

Najib is seen as a weakling because of the Rosmah factor. They feel that Rosmah has too much control over him.

Today, a good many Umno members believe Najib had something to do with the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu.

Although they do not believe that he did it himself or that he ordered his two bodyguards to do it, they have been silently pointing their fingers at someone “so close” to him saying, “only that person would have had the authority to direct the guards”.

In which case, is it then a coincidence that Deepak and former inspector-general of police Musa Hassan have come out at this “opportune” time to reveal “the truth”?

Does Musa know what we do not? Is Umno and Barisan Nasional in for a big fall?

There are just so many questions.

Is it also then a coincidence that Johor PAS had lodged a police report on the matter of Musa’s allegations? Even the national PAS leadership was not aware of the Johor PAS’ move to lodge a police report.

The action, according to some PAS members, was done on the instigation of certain friendly Umno members in Johor.

Friends in PAS, PKR and even DAP

It was, they said, all being done to embarrass and tire Najib.

Imagine the Johor Umno members attacking Najib’s cousin, Hishammuddin Hussein, saying he knows nothing and does not deserve a seat, let alone the position of home minister.

They were comparing him with more prominent Malays who’d do Umno proud. Doesn’t this seem like a direct affront to Najib?

Were these, in the first place, the work of Muhyiddin’s men?

It’s really hard to tell. To them, Muhyiddin may be a “stop gap” and we have had a few in Umno and he seems to be the next.

Najib had almost caved in to “pressure” from Muhyiddin’s supporters. Had it not been for the Deepak and Musa allegations, he would have announced the general election.

He had been hinting that it was going to happen, till Deepak and Musa came and threw the spanner into the works.

Muhyiddin’s men or at least they seem to be “his men”, have many friends in both PAS and PKR. They also have many sympathisers among DAP members.

So were these planned by Umno to rid itself of a man it sees as “a huge liability to the party, race and country”, as one Johor Umno member put it?

What is known is that “these” men who are allegedly aligned to Muhyiddin will all help the opposition no matter what the pledges were at the recent Umno general assembly.

Why? Because they have nothing but contempt for the leadership.

Mahathir’s meddling is helping Pakatan

Dr Mahathir Mohamad is touching 90s, and has no clue as to how much the majority of voters dislike him right now

If you cut it to the core, Dr Mahathir Mohamad is a mafia don who believes in quick fixes.

He literally built his own power and legacy from a humble beginning as the son of a headmaster into the one of the most powerful warlords in the country.

From that we know, Mahathir is not one who lacks in confidence. But he lacks in being able to think three to four levels deep.

He convinces himself that what happens next after his intervention in a situation was planned right from the beginning, when in fact it is an emerging threat that could blow his plans apart.

Mahathir has one additional weakness which he cannot fix.

He is touching 90, he was born in a different era and he really does not understand how much the majority of voters dislike him right now.

Mahathir failed in his personal quest to become a delegate from his own Kubang Pasu division and then his son failed to win the Ketua Pemuda post.

Mahathir does not know of the whisperings of discontent in the government circles and how even some of the plans being hatched are DOA (Dead On Arrival) because we have already intercepted them.

Why then is Mahathir being seen as relevant right now?

Why is he watching over Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak like Roman Abramovich watching over one of the Chelsea managers?

Because TSMY (Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin – Deputy Prime Minister) is using Mahathir to do his dirty work in return for accommodating Mukhriz Mahathir.

Mahathir is now planning the post-Najib coup d’état. This heaps, of course, more pressure on Najib than he really needs right now, but such is his role as the ultimate hatchet man – the political grim-reaper, so to speak.

But that is on the assumption that Umno actually manages to sneak in a victory.

Unappreciative local warlords

This is becoming an increasingly remote possibility and right now what Mahathir is doing is counter-productive.

In his obsession with quick fixes, Mahathir is now delivering the coup de grâce to Umno’s chances in the 13th general election.

But right now, Mahathir has conspired to make Najib’s position untenable. Najib is being considered a lame duck prime minister because he lacks the power and the prestige.

Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think people dislike him; in fact, many may like him on Facebook, but when you have to convince a disappointed local warlord to rally his boys to fight Pakatan, you need to be able to offer something in return.

Here lies the problem. Mahathir has convinced all the operators that Najib’s days are numbered, so how can his promises be taken seriously?

The local warlords will be unappreciative and may take the money but then go on holiday.

Contrast this mess with the Pakatan war machine. This war machine is now beginning to flex its muscles; no longer is Pakatan riding on the wave of hope, it’s now riding on the wave of anticipation.

Pakatan is beginning to develop the aura of invincibility that will make it the default choice.

That is when the regime change takes place, when people are programmed to think that voting Pakatan is not an exercise in making a protest vote but really the default choice to make.

Pakatan is close to making that mind conditioning work in the minds of the people, partially helped by Mahathir’s meddling though.
