More Than Ever, Malays Need Ibrahim Ali And Perkasa: True or False?

Written by  Iskandar Dzulkarnain
Perkasa is the most famous NGO in the country today. It is notorious for its radical stand and extreme views. It should have been banned by the Government, but Perkasa is still running around as our Government is liberal enough to encourage freedom of speech.
Perkasa is the self proclaimed saviour of the Malays and the Guardian of Article 153 in the federal constitution. Without article 153 there is no Perkasa. Without article 153, Malays will be the same as non-Malays. Perkasa believes that Article 153 has been written to guard the Malays and Bumiputras as first class citizens accorded with Special Privileges. The rest are second-class, who have no right to question their rights.

Article 153 wouldn’t have been known by Malaysians if not for Perkasa. Because of Article 153, human rights must take second place and so must meritocracy, equality and fair play. According to Perkasa, no one must or can or should question Article 153. Today Article 153, is the Mother of all articles in the Constitution. All hail Article 153.
Proclaiming themselves to be independent of the Government, their aim is to protect the Special Privileges of the Malays and those of the Bumiputras even though many are Christian Bumiputras in East Malaysia. So Perkasa is not so partial after all. Perkasa just wants the non-Bumiputras to acknowledge and accept that they are lesser beings than the Bumiputras.
You can’t trash them, it is not Perkasa’s fault, it is written in black and white in Article 153 of the Constitution. It is seditious to question Article 153, even though the other articles are OK to question.
Although UMNO has failed miserably in their struggle for the Malays, Perkasa still sees fit to side UMNO. Proclaiming that Malay Rights have eroded through the years, they have vowed to protect what's left until the end of the days.
From now on the Malays will not be neglected anymore. Perkasa will see to it that they enjoy 67 percent of the economic pie, and 100 percent of the political power. Every Malay will be well off and enjoy their undeniable Rights as Special Class Citizens. Non-Malays just have to bite the dust.
Although Malaysians have written them off as mere clowns, they have nevertheless taken it upon themselves to carry the burden and protect the cause.
Malaysians can hardly recall any attempts in the past by anyone to impinge or infringe on these Special Rights, but Perkasa still has this uncanny fear that the Malays Special Privileges may be rudely rescinded.
Their terrifying fears can be seen in their wide-staring eyes and their high-pitch hollering to all Malays who will listen, warning them to be on constant alert that their Special Rights may disappear in a flash. The constant verbal warnings to non-Malays to hold off and stop questioning the Malays Special Privileges are now a daily occurrence. You are not a Malay, you are not entitled to the same privileges, so you should stop questioning the inevitable - that is the Perkasa mantra.
Perkasa is also against multiculturalism as it is in contrast to Malay Special Privileges. In other words, multiculturalism may make Malays not so special anymore. As far as Perkasa is concerned, Malays must be better in every way than the rest and accorded the Special Treatment they so rightly deserve, as written in the Article 153 of the Constitution.
The only entity that stands in the way of Perkasa is PAS who fights for the rights of all citizens. To Perkasa that is intolerable. How can PAS sacrifice the Malay Special Privileges for the sake of a better nation?
Their frustration can be clearly seen as they continue to hurl abuses at PAS. Perkasa does not hide their anger at PAS for forfeiting these Special Rights, even though PAS says these are contrary to the Islamic Values they practise. Ibrahim Ali doesn’t lose any time and opportunity to tell PAS off, accusing it of being an advocate of Malay Disunity
Doesn’t PAS know that Malays are the best? Every Malay should be seated on the Throne, ordering the non-Malays to do their bidding. That should be the way. Why can’t PAS accept that?
UMNO has failed the Malays and that is why Perkasa is taking over. At the rate UMNO is going, Malay Rights won’t be restored for the next 5,000 years even with the reintroduction of the NEP, which PM Najib has sneaked in under another name - TERAJU.
The Malays are still lagging behind, and utterly neglected. Non-Malays are faring better than the Malays even though they have no rights, and that is so unfair.
Malaysians from all walks of life are disgusted with Perkasa’s stand, but they continue to take an interest. They are fascinated to see how low Perkasa is willing to stoop in their lunatic stand.
But Perkasa fails to see that the Malays are not as mentally challenged as they think or perhaps, as they are. Seeing through their insincere standpoints, the Malays' resolve to mend race relations have taken on a new pace. Ibrahim Ali’s reverse psychology seems to be working. Without his knowledge, it has taken the reverse direction from his!
But lately Perkasa is also under pressure. Their heroic efforts in the past have not had a positive impact on the Malays. It also failed to have a negative impact on the non-Malays. They need to try harder to drive home the message before their Masters write them off as overpaid, underperforming rabble-rousers.
The more they rant and clamour for attention, the more determined Malaysians are to end this lunacy by supporting the Opposition.
