Declassify The Agreements If Not Siding IPP Cronies, Pakatan Tells Najib

Written by  Wong Choon Mei
Pakatan Rakyat leaders scoffed at Prime Minister Najib Razak for alluding that his government was on the side of the people and not the immensely wealthy independent power producers, saying that "the proof of the pudding is in the eating".
They also slammed the PM for hypocisy for "sneaking in" two more new deals with tycoon Syed Mokhtar Albukhary's Malakoff and the Singapore unit of Francis Yeoh's YTL Power during the past couple of weeks.

Will Najib "kill, C4, Rob, Snatch, Blow Up Or Bribe" Umno's Way Back To S'gor ?

PKR deputy president Azmin Ali called Datuk Seri Najib Razak “uncivilised” today for urging Umno to recapture the country’s wealthiest state, Selangor, with whatever “weapon was at their disposal”.
The prime minister said last month that Umno must forget it lost the central state to Pakatan Rakyat (PR) in 2008, but rise to win it back.
“I want to ask Najib, what does he mean ‘at all cost’?” said Azmin at the launch of PKR’s “Jelajah Selangor Tawan Putrajaya” (Jelas) campaign here today.

Kazakh Debacle: Should Not Najib And Rosmah Set The Highest Moral Code?

Written by  J. D. Lovrenciear
The public is asking if the PM and his First Lady have abused their positions vis-a-vis attending their child's engagement while having gone to Kazakstan on official business.
Meanwhile many have rushed to rescue the PM and his First Lady giving evasive and aggitated explanations and even sneering at the very question that the rakyat are asking.
What makes it all a debacle is the way the rebuttals are forthcoming from the defenders of the PM and his First Lady.

Written by  Maclean Patrick
The whole Altantuya episode has taken a new twist after French investigators revealed that a third person had travelled with Razak Baginda and the sultry Mongolian translator during their trips overseas to negotiate in the sprawling Malaysian submarines acquisition.
Although, there is widespread speculation the third person was Najib Razak, who was then Defence Minister, one must not jump the gun and disregard other possibilities.

Scholarships Fiasco Inevitable When Najib Flip-Flops On Policy

Written by  Selena Tay
In the past week, there has been much hue and cry with regards to the scholarships fiasco. Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin had previously said that all those who obtained 8A+ would be given scholarships. Fullstop. No further elaborations.
This was good news, simple and easy to understand, and all students worked hard in order to achieve the target.
MCA Youth chief Wee Ka Siong, who is also the deputy Education minister, first raised up the matter concerning the PSD scholarships by claiming that 363 straight A+ students had failed to obtain scholarships despite Prime Minister Najib Razak's promise last year that all students scoring 8A+ and above would secure scholarships.

‘Opium’ Subsidies: MP Hits Out At Najib

Instead of abolishing subsidies completely, the government should implement new policies on subsidies so that poor families won’t go hungry, says Tawau MP Chua Soon Bui.

KOTA KINABALU: A Sabah-based MP has urged the federal government to revamp its current policies on subsidies so that the poor are left immune to price increases.

“Instead of abolishing them completely, the government should implement new policies on subsidies so that poor families, especially those in Sabah, won’t go hungry,” Tawau MP Chua Soon Bui said.

Feng-Shui And GE-13: What The Masters Foretell For Anwar And Najib

Written by  Selena Tay, Wong Choon Mei
Speculation is running high and bets are already being placed on when Malaysia's 13th General Election will be held. This is a sure indication that the rakyat or the populace believes it is very soon - within months, and the favorite being July.
Some have even prophesied the exact nomination day of July 9 and balloting day of July 23.
How do they know? Well, Malaysian politics is a bit like cheese - full of holes. Very often, the news turns out wrong not because it wasn't true but because the powers-that-be decided to change their plans to regain the element of surprise.

The 2nd Umno Family: Hisham, The Prime Minister's Cousin

Written by  Maclean Patrick,
If there is blue blood in UMNO, then a prime candidate to lead the party would surely be Hishamuddin Hussein Onn.
His great grandfather was Dato’ Jaffar, Prime Minister to Sultan Abu Bakar - the great-grandfather of the present Johor ruler, while his grandfather Dato’ Sir Onn Jaafar had founded UMNO and his father Tun Hussain Onn was the prime minister of Malaysia before Mahathir Mohamed.
As for the 50-year old Hisham, he has been the Minister of Youth and Sports, Minister of Education, former UMNO Youth Chief and is currently a vice president of UMNO and Minister of Home Affairs.

The Bogeyman Made By The Umno Elite

Written by  Iskandar Dzulkarnain
Coming across a recent news article, I read with amusement about the Malaysians of Siamese descent having trouble convincing the Civil Service that they were bona fide Bumiputras, and thus entitled to promotions and other special rights. Numbering 60,000 of them, they reside mostly in Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
The Bumiputras are not just Malays, but also comprises Eurasians, and the minority East Malaysian Christian and Muslim Bumiputras.
The Orang Asli’s status has yet to be endorsed. Past complaints that they were sidelined because of the way they look, or due to their non-Malay sounding names, cultural differences and their inability to speak 'proper' Malay has always been highlighted through the years.

The Real Python Behind Najib And Anwar

Written by  J. D. Lovrenciear
The media continues to either champion Najib or Anwar. The developments appear very crystal clear that the rakyat's real enemy is made out to be either Najib or Anwar.
And so we are witnessing a kind of a 'spy verses spy' sequel as supporters of both figure-heads take turns to go for the throats of Najib or Anwar depending on which side of the fence they fight this battle.
In all likelihood, we may all be wrong after all. Wrong in the sense that Najib or Anwar are not the rakyat's real enemies. Then who?
Remember not so very long ago when the then Prime Minister of Malaysia shed tears at the podium as he declared that he cannot go on any more leading the nation. It was some sort of what we would translate in the local context as 'saya tak tahan lagi lah'.

Najib Razak - A Wake Up Call For Umno To Curb Nepotism And Dynastic Politics

Written by  Maclean Patrick
The Institute of Management Development (IMD) 2011 World Competitive Rankings places Malaysia at 16th, six slots down from its previous 10th position.
This drop in standing comes despite the positive announcements the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) made with regards to Malaysia’s track record in combating corruption, improved accountability and transparency.
These three themes have been Najib Razak clarion call since assuming office on April 3 2009. He entered office with a focus on domestic economic issues and political reform. And sad to say in all these areas, Najib has not only failed to make a mark, they have gotten worse.
